A/Prof Devika Kamath is the Head of Mathematical & Physical Sciences at Macquarie University. Her current research is in how planets are born from the ashes of stellar death.Prof Geraint Lewis is a cosmologist at the University of Sydney and author of The Cosmic Revolutionary's Handbook and Where Did the Universe Come From?.He'll talk about The Five Lives of the Universe: From fire to darkness, from stars to emptiness, join us on a journey through the five lives of the Universe.

The Sydney branch is not the only Australian chapter - if you're down south, go see our friends at Astronomy on Tap Melbourne!Each free event features accessible, engaging presentations on space and science topics ranging from planets to black holes to galaxies to the beginning of the Universe, along with trivia, games, prizes, music, and other surprises! Presenters are typically from local research and educational institutions, but we also host visitor speakers with various backgrounds and roles as scientists, educators, artists, and more. There is always plenty of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably tag along for the fun.
